Types Of Christmas Lights For Yard Decorations

It is a yearly ritual for most American households, the decorating of our homes and yards for the Christmas season. A lot of people just love to go all out when it comes to Christmas. When it comes to outdoor decorating, we have so many options nowadays to choose from. So many different light for yards, Christmas colored rope lights, LED lights, icicle lights, net lights, and I can’t forget to mention all those inflatable yard decorations too!

The main basis of the decorating, though, are which type of lights you choose to decorate your yard with.

Christmas Yard Lights

You can use the regular outdoor Christmas lights and string them in trees, along fences, on the eaves of your house etc. You can purchase these light strings with regular light bulbs or the more energy efficient LED light bulbs.

Another option are the icicle lights that look really nice hanging down from your gutters and look especially effective on a front porch entry.

Then there are the net lights that you can get that are usually draped over shrubs and bushes and can come in clear or white colors. These net Christmas lights make it really easy to get a symmetrical effect for light bulb placement and help to avoid the light string from falling into the interior of the bush, where they would not be so visible.

Another great option is to use Christmas rope lights. These now come in a variety of colors and can be wound around just about anything, The added bonus of these lights is that you don’t have to worry about light bulbs breaking as they are all enclosed within the rope.

Christmas Decor For Yard

Many people like to really go the extra mile, if you haven’t already noticed, and use a selection of all the above.

You are only limited by your imagination! As you can see from this video below, there are some really creative people!

You can easily find all these kinds of lights online, just by doing a Google search. The added bonus of this is that you don’t have to wait until after Halloween to start shopping for them, as you would have to if you were going to buy them at your local stores.

Online the selection of Christmas lights to use for decorating your yard is always there, available to you all year round. That gives you time then to really plan out your Christmas lights for yard decorations way in advance.

If , by chance, you are feeling extra creative and adventurous you could even set your Christmas lights to music to really amaze your family, friends and neighbors. Then that would really be a light show and would really get you some attention!

Design Tips for Displaying Christmas Lights

Earlier people used candles to decorate their homes for the winter holidays, but modern Christmas lights come in more convenient options, like fairy lights and rope lights. … You can connect the lights to a music system so that they move in accordance with the beat. Play traditional songs on your system and the lights will dance along, across your tree or outdoor landscaping. This creates a truly enchanting vision for any passerby.
